Executive Director Search

Position Overview:
The Executive Director is a part-time leadership role responsible for overseeing the overall operations, growth, and sustainability of the Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will serve as the central figure in managing day-to-day activities, supporting artistic and operational endeavors, and fostering community engagement. This position offers $5,400 annually for approximately 6 hours of work per week -with flexibility for meetings, events, and production schedules as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Organizational Leadership

Serve as the primary point of communication between the Board of Trustees, committee chairs, volunteers, and the broader community.

The Executive Director reports directly to the President of the Board of Trustees.

This position is part-time, paid and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees, subject to annual review and renewal.

Work collaboratively with the Board to develop and implement strategic goals in alignment with the theatre’s mission and long-term vision.

Ensure decisions and actions across committees and productions reflect the organization’s values and objectives.

Provide leadership support to committees and volunteers, helping maintain clear roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
Operational Oversight

Support the Secretary and Treasurer by assisting with budget preparation, financial planning, donor management, and reporting.

Oversee day-to-day operations of the theatre, ensuring that all administrative functions run efficiently and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Coordinate closely with all committee chairs (e.g., Marketing, Fundraising, Stagecraft, House) to ensure productions and events are fully supported and operationally successful.

Secure all performance rights and scripts for each production, ensuring timely returns and compliance with licensing agreements.

Maintain a positive and productive relationship with the theatre’s ticketing vendor, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, addressing any technical or customer service issues promptly, and coordinating on updates, feature usage, or promotional tools to enhance the patron experience.

Maintain and organize key institutional records (e.g., vendor contracts, performance licenses, grant documents, policy manuals) in coordination with the Secretary and Treasurer to ensure long-term continuity and organizational memory.
Community Engagement

Represent The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County at public events, civic functions, and meetings with other community organizations.

Develop and sustain relationships with donors, sponsors, patrons, grantmakers, and community leaders.

Collaborate with the Marketing and Membership Committees to promote productions, events, and membership growth.

Lead or support fundraising initiatives, including identifying and applying for grants, sponsorships, and donation opportunities.
Volunteer Coordination

Work with committee chairs to recruit, train, and retain volunteers for roles in technical production, front-of-house, administration, and more.

Ensure volunteers are equipped with the tools, information, and support necessary to fulfill their duties successfully.

Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive volunteer culture that encourages long-term engagement and recognition.
Qualifications:

Demonstrated leadership and organizational management experience, preferably in a nonprofit, arts, or community-based setting.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.

Proven experience in financial oversight, budgeting, and fundraising.

Deep appreciation for and commitment to community theatre and the performing arts.

Familiarity with theatre operations, production timelines, volunteer management, and marketing best practices is highly desirable.
Compensation:

$450 paid monthly

Approximately 6 hours of work per week, with flexibility for meetings, events, and production schedules as needed.
