The area premiere of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery will be presented at the Little Theatre for nine performances opening October 4th through October 19th.
Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery is the hilarious adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Hound of the Baskervilles. The playwright transforms this famous mystery into an all-out comedic theatrical adventure full of humor and mystery as Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick Dr. Watson face their most puzzling and dangerous case yet. A cast of seven actors take on nearly 40 characters searching for the truth complete with a dizzying web of clues, outlandish accents, and disguises.
"Ken Ludwig's script conveys a real love of theatrical storytelling," states director Don Irven. " It offers the perfect blend of mystery and comedy. And the unique thing about his delightful script is that he creates a fun blend of laughs and mystery by writing over 40 roles for multiple actors."
The cast of seven includes Shawn Clay as Sherlock Holmes, and Shannon Mitchell as Dr. Watson. Also in the cast are Jerry Marlowe, Roxie Long, Chester Boffo, Kate Johnson and Alex Walker.
The production team includes director Irven; Elizabeth Lehigh Thomakos, assistant director; Jack Pottmeyer, set & special props design; Steve Albery, lighting design; Kathy Bergstrom, sound design; Machelle Miller, costumes; Debi Devore, wigs & makeup; Halle Holmes, stage manager; Elizabeth Lawson Holmes, dialect coach; Amy Luxemburg, rehearsal prompter; Michael Brindley, producer and Allison Morris, photographer. The stage crew and additional assistance includes Danielle Blair, Dawn Brogan, Taylor Brogan, Lily Gao, Trish Green, Sally Holmes, Sherrel Rieger, Monica Scott, Sheila Samson-Witt, Amy Vance and Bart Herman.
Performances are on the weekends, October 4th - 19th. Friday and Saturday performances are at 730pm with matinee performances on Sundays at 2:30pm. There is a Thursday performance scheduled on October 17th at 730pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling the KSU PAC box office at 330-308-6400 or in person by visiting the PAC box office from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday and from 10am to 2pm Saturdays as well as online at www.TheLittleTheatreOnline.org. The Little Theatre is located at 466 Carrie Ave. NW in New Philadelphia Ohio.
