This year’s “Relay Revue” will be March 10 at 7 in the Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County. The variety show is the main fundraising project of the theater’s Relay for Life team with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society for research, patient services and education.
Producer-director Roxie Long said that auditions will be held at 7 on February 27 at the theater. Those interested should bring a CD if they will be singing or dancing. Any other act should be prepared to audition a sample of what they wish to do in the show. There will be one mandatory rehearsal on Friday, March 9 at 7 pm. “In the past we have had a true variety show, with singing, dancing, comedy and dramatic readings,” said Long. She said the volunteer performers were a mix of Little Theatre veterans and talent from the community. Competition will be held in youth and adult divisions.
The program also will include door prizes and a time of recognition for cancer survivors who are in attendance. Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the event. All seats are general admission and a $10 donation is suggested.
Those seeking more details may contact her at (330) 859-2909 or longroxie@yahoo.com.
Long also said that anyone interested in joining the Relay for Life team may contact her. The annual walk will be June 1-2 at Franklin Park in Strasburg. The theme this year is “Cruisin’ For A Cure.”
